Bedale osteopaths are a team of experienced practitioners offering expert care, empathy and support for all our patients. We can offer you advice and treatment on a wide variety of conditions. In addition to our osteopathic skills we work alongside a trusted team of practitioners who are qualified in acupuncture and remedial massage. Our team approach allows us to offer you the best care and tailor treatment specifically to your needs. Bedale TeamSuzanne Hibberd BSc (Hons) Ost.![]() Suzanne became enthusiastic about osteopathy after experiencing back pain in her late teens as a result of poor working posture. She went on to train at the British School of Osteopathy and graduated in 1998 with an honors degree in Osteopathy. Suzanne initially worked in London providing osteopathy on the NHS for a GP surgery and in two private practices, before moving to work in North Yorkshire in 1999. In 2002 she established Bedale Osteopaths with her colleague Stuart Bentley. Suzanne enjoys treating all age groups including children and babies and uses a wide range of approaches that include the very gentle cranial techniques as well as stronger manipulation techniques. Since qualifying, Suzanne has completed post graduate training in cranial osteopathy, Pilates and rehabilitation, and the Niel-Asher frozen shoulder technique. Stuart Bentley BSc (Hons) Ost.
James Harvey BSc. James Harvey graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2004. During the course of his training, James undertook work in various specialist clinics including a sport injury clinic and an expectant mother’s and children’s clinic. After qualifying James moved to Yorkshire to work at Bedale Osteopaths. He now also runs two other successful practices in Selby and Sheffield but continues to work at Bedale on a part time basis. James has undertaken post graduate training in cranial osteopathy and sports injury massage. He is a keen sportsman enjoying sailing and kite surfing, this has led to a good understanding of sporting injuries. James also has a particular interest in treating patients who suffer from headaches and neck problems and enjoys the challenge of this complicated subject. Anna O’Connell DipAc, MBAcC.
Anna enjoys treating a wide range of ailments and has a particular interest in gynaecological problems, infertility, stress and anxiety and pain relief. Since qualifying Anna has undertaken post graduate training covering womens health and fertility problems,cancer, pain relief and management, needling skills and diagnostic techniques. More recently Anna has undergone training in acupuncture for patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses and she now also works as part of the Herriot Hospice team providing palliative care to cancer patients throughout North Yorkshire. Nicola Rawstron DipAc, MBAcC. MSc.Nicola has recently returned to Bedale Osteopaths to increase the availibility of Acupuncture appointments. She has worked with us over the past six years covering Anna's materniity leave and holidays. Nicola's first experience of Traditional Chinese Medicine was when she started having acupuncture in conjunction with fertility treatment , she became interested in how acupuncture could work alongside western medicine to provide the best of both worlds. Prior to becoming an Acupuncturist she worked in the field of Pathology gaining an MSc in Haematology. During this time she also worked for Johson and Johnson providing training, sales and support for blood transfusion laboratories in the UK and throughout Europe. As well as working with the team at Bedale Osteopaths Nicola runs a private practice in Thirsk, teaches at the northern college of acupuncture, and has set up a social enterprise called Access to Acupuncture which obtains charitable or goverment funding for a range of projects providing acupuncture free to patients at the point of care. This enterprise has allowed her to offer acupuncture to patients at Leeds Teaching Hospital.

Stuart Bentley was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He graduated from the British School of Osteopathy with an honors degree in Osteopathy in 1998 and shortly afterwards moved to North Yorkshire. Stuart helped to set up Bedale Osteopaths with Suzanne Hibberd in 2002 and he also runs a successful practice in Yarm.
