Osteopathy may help you if you have pain that has arisen because of problems with the muscles, tendons, ligaments, discs, nerves or joints of your body. To be pain free and healthy your body needs to function smoothly.
Your ability to function smoothly may be disrupted by a number of things, for example through injury or accidents, repetitive or awkward movements, prolonged driving or desk work etc.If you have a change in your normal musculo skeletal function you may begin to experience symptoms such as pain, joint stiffness, headaches or tiredness etc.
Osteopathy can give you an understanding of why you have pain or dysfunction, and what factors might have caused it. Treatment and advice can help you to ease pain and manage your condition so that you can try to avoid future episodes of the same symptoms.
How do osteopaths treat these problems?
We use touch, stretching, massage and manipulation, to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own natural healing mechanisms. We also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
